Who is behind this
This site and the newsletter are operated by Martin Ibsen, Danish business registration no. (CVR) 34303320, Kaløvej 81, 8543 Hornslet, Denmark. Contact: mail@martinibsen.dk.
What data I collect
When you sign up for the newsletter, I collect:
- Your email address
- The time of signup
- Which page you signed up from (produktland.dk)
That is it. I do not collect your name, IP address for profiling, or any other personal information.
If you use the search fields on the site, I store the question itself, the time, and which field it was typed into. I do that to see what people want to know, and what I have not written about yet. Nothing is stored about who asked: no IP address, no id, no cookie, so the questions cannot be traced back to you or linked to each other. Even so, do not type personal information into a search field.
What I use it for
Your email address is used for two things: sending you the newsletter, and occasionally telling you about my own courses, programs and products. Nothing else. I do not sell, share or rent your email to third parties, and you will never receive ads for other people's products.
The legal basis is your consent, which you gave when you signed up. You can withdraw it at any time. See the section on unsubscribing below.
When I advertise a webinar or a course on Facebook and Instagram, I may give Meta an encrypted (hashed) copy of the newsletter list so Meta can find other profiles that resemble the readers. Meta cannot read the addresses, and they are not used to show you anything. If you sign up for a webinar through a form inside Facebook or Instagram, I receive the details you fill in (name, email, job title and company), and they are stored with Loops as described below. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in reaching people who work in product management, and you can object by writing to me.
If you sign up for a webinar with a work email, I may look up your company's website and your public work profile (for example on LinkedIn), so that any follow-up after the webinar is about something relevant to you. I only keep your name, job title and company in my own client overview, never in the newsletter system. The legal basis is my legitimate interest, and you can object by writing to me, and I will delete the details.
Where your data is stored
Your email is stored with Loops (loops.so), which is my email provider. Loops is subject to the GDPR and stores data in accordance with European data protection law.
For how long
Your email is stored for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your email is deleted from my lists.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data I hold about you
- Have your data corrected or deleted
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (datatilsynet.dk)
To exercise these rights, write to mail@martinibsen.dk.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email from me. It takes effect immediately and requires no explanation.
Presenter (the app)
Presenter runs on your own computer, and your decks stay there. The app has no tracking and no analytics and sends no data about how you use it. These are the things that leave your machine:
- When you download the app, you give your email. It is handled as a newsletter signup as described above, and the contact is marked as having downloaded Presenter.
- When you use AI, the slides you ask to have fixed go straight from your computer to the AI you have chosen (for example Claude or ChatGPT), with your own login or your own key. They do not pass through me, and I do not see them. Your key is stored only on your computer. The AI provider you choose handles the text under its own terms.
- When Presenter reads aloud with the Charon voice, the text of your slides goes through produktland.dk to Google's text-to-speech (Google Cloud), which acts as a processor. The audio is kept on produktland.dk, so the same text is not made twice. To keep usage in check, I count how many characters are read per day from an IP address, but only as an encrypted (hashed) value, and only for the current day. Data may be transferred to the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you choose your Mac's own voice in Settings, the text never leaves your computer.
- When you send feedback from the app, I receive your message, your email if you give it, and which version, operating system and language you use. The message is received through Netlify (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) and forwarded to my email. It is only used to reply and to improve the app.
- When the app checks for updates, it fetches information about new versions from GitHub. GitHub sees your IP address, as with any other download.
- When you share a deck with a link (the Share button), a copy of the deck is placed on produktland.dk at Netlify (EU-US Data Privacy Framework), where anyone with the link can see it until you remove it from the app. The first time, the app asks for your email, which is handled as a newsletter signup as described above. To keep abuse in check, I count how many decks are shared per day from an IP address, only as an encrypted (hashed) value. The link can also be used as a design system in a colleague's Presenter. If the deck uses fonts from Google Fonts, the app fetches them from Google when you share and puts them inside the copy, so people viewing the link never call Google. Google then sees your IP address. If you send the file instead, it does not leave your computer through me.
The basis is that you ask for it when you use the feature, and my legitimate interest in keeping the service running and free of abuse. If you want anything deleted, write to me.
Cookies and analytics
I use no Google Analytics. To understand what works on the site I use PostHog (EU-hosted, eu.posthog.com), and to measure my ads on Facebook and Instagram I use the Meta Pixel. Both load only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you say no, nothing is loaded.
The Meta Pixel sets cookies and sends Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland) the page you visit, your IP address, your browser and, if you sign up for a webinar or a course, the fact that you did. Meta can link this to your profile and use it to measure the ads, find similar audiences and show you ads from me. Your email and name are not sent, and the pixel does not run on closed pages. Meta and I are joint controllers for the collection, and Meta alone is responsible for what it does with the data afterwards. Data may be transferred to the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The basis is your consent, which you can withdraw by clearing the site's data in your browser, so the banner asks again.
If you accept, PostHog anonymously records:
- Page views and clicks
- Session replays, an anonymised playback of your movements on the site (mouse movements, clicks, scrolling), so I can see where things go wrong and improve them. Text in input fields is masked.
Your IP address is anonymised, data is hosted in the EU, and replays are deleted automatically after 30 days. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your cookies for the site.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, I will update the date at the top and give notice via the newsletter.
