Become an AI product leader

The programme for the product leader of the future

AI does not make product leadership less important. It makes bad product leadership more expensive and more visible. So we built a programme for the new product leader. The programme is taught in Danish.

AI changes the premises of product leadership.

Direction

From building to deciding

Code, prototypes and analysis now take hours instead of months. The scarce thing becomes knowing what is worth building, and deciding it quickly.

Identity

From executing to orchestrating

AI carries out much of the work, and product, design and tech can do each other’s tasks. Your craft lies in setting the demands and answering for the result, and that changes how you see yourself.

Structure

From features to outcomes

Organisations that measure delivered features will use AI to produce more of what nobody uses. What matters is whether leadership funds an outcome or a list of features.

What does a product leader need to master when output gets cheap?

Go deep. This is where you have to be sharper than everyone else

Discovery and validation become the core

When any good idea can end up straight in production, building the wrong thing gets expensive. Finally the focus can move to where we have said for ten years it should be.

From execution to judgement

The role shifts from producing yourself to setting direction and quality-assuring what AI makes. You have to be able to argue for why you build what you build.

Depth in vision, strategy and discovery

This is where the product leader has to go deeper than everyone else: set direction, dare to say no, and make sure what you build is something someone will pay for.

Get broad enough. Understand the neighbouring disciplines

The boundaries between disciplines blur

Product needs to understand more tech and design; developers more business. The new profile looks more like a "product engineer" than a classic role.

AI craft in practice

Being able to talk to an AI agent so you get what you want. Not a prompting course, but enough craft to work for real.

The foundation

A growth mindset is the entry requirement.

The most important competence is not technical. It is the will to move. Without it you get nothing out of AI.

A course cannot stand alone. We learned that the hard way.

Between us we have taught product people for over 20 years. Participants go home fired up after a good day on discovery and come back deflated, because the organisation at home works in a completely different way from the one the books describe. That is why the programme brings your organisation along, and the four pillars here are built to close that gap.

01 · The theory

Theory is ten percent.

You get the foundation as self-study before we meet. We do not spend our time together on what Cagan says about the product trio. We spend it on putting it to work.

02 · The sparring

You meet people who are in the same spot.

Participants always point to the same thing as the most valuable part. It was never the models. It was hearing how other companies do it. So the sparring carries the programme, it is not a break between talks.

03 · Your context

We come to you.

The programme does not stay in the classroom. We come into your organisation and give you an assessment at the start and another at the end. Not self-evaluation, but a view from the outside.

04 · Peer coaching

You become a coach yourself.

We match you with another participant, and you coach each other through the programme. You learn an unusual amount from observing someone else and putting feedback into words.

A programme that does not end with the course day.

The theory is done up front. The time is spent where things have to work: together with the others, and on site with you. This is how the four months add up.

Hear the three of us talk about the programme.

In episode 21 of the Produktland podcast we take the premises behind the programme one at a time: why the bottleneck moves from building to deciding, what happens when product, design and tech gain access to each other's domains, and why a feature factory becomes more dangerous with AI. The episode is in Danish.

  • A really good and relevant course. A good mix of concrete examples, hands-on exercises and inspiration for how AI can be used in product work. I left with several new perspectives and ideas I can take straight into my daily work. Highly recommended.
Thomas Aalund Junker Thomas Aalund Junker · Senior Product Owner, AI Solutions, Grundfos
  • Seriously inspiring. You could feel how much you care about it, and I walked away with a pile of inspiration we can actually use.
Claus Abildgaard Christensen Claus Abildgaard Christensen · Senior Consultant
  • It was nicely hands-on, with good exercises in between the knowledge sharing. I wrote down a lot of gold and I'm already implementing things I learned.
Rasmus Uhre Rasmus Uhre · Product Specialist, Cloud
  • For the first time ever, I didn't fall asleep during a course like this. It really makes me want to get started.

Questions we get

Who is the programme for?

Product managers, product owners and the people who lead product development without holding the title. What matters is the role: you need to be responsible for what gets built and why. You do not need to code, and you do not need to be using AI already. The programme is taught in Danish.

How much time do I need to set aside?

About 45 hours over four months. Two full days in Aarhus, two half days where we come to you, two online sparring sessions of two hours, an hour of peer coaching every other week and around six hours of self-study at the start. Most of it sits inside working hours, and most of it goes straight into your own work.

What happens during the visits to my organisation?

One of us comes to you at the start and again at the end to see how you work. It is an assessment with an outside view, not a self-evaluation. The first shows where you stand, the last shows what has moved and what is still missing.

What do I take home?

Two plans. A personal development plan for you, and a company development plan that brings the organisation along. Not a diploma.

When is my sign-up binding?

Only once the cohort is confirmed. That is when we send the invoice, not before. The cohort is at most 10 people, and we get back to you with the dates of the two sessions as soon as they are set.

Can several of us come from the same organisation?

Yes. If several of you are coming, you can take the programme as a company cohort with your own organisation as the case all the way through. Choose "Company cohort" under sign-up and we take it from there.

Need your manager to say yes?

Here is the email, so you do not have to write it yourself. Copy, change the names, send.

Subject: Programme: AI product leader

Hi [manager]

I would like to join Produktland's programme "AI product leader". It starts on 15 January 2027 and runs over four months: two sessions in Aarhus, two visits to our organisation, the rest online, about 45 hours in total. The programme is taught in Danish.

What we get out of it:
- I learn to lead product development where AI makes output cheap, and prioritisation and discovery become what matters.
- The teachers come to us twice, so the programme works with our organisation rather than an example from a book.
- I have a fixed sparring group and a coach along the way, so it does not stop at the course day.

The price is DKK 24,500 excl. VAT, invoiced once the cohort is confirmed.
